Mr. Hori is in charge of operations of Value Quest Partners and advices to portfolio companies in terms of legal and intellectual property rights.
He is also Executive Advisor of Corporate Strategy Planning at Tokyo Electron Limited (TEL) and an Outside Director of Daiwabo Holdings Co., Ltd. (listed on TSE Prime Market).
He joined TEL in 1985 and worked in Silicon Valley from 1986 to 1989.  He had been engaged in legal and IP at TEL for more than 20 years where he accumulated lots of experience in contract negotiation as well as domestic and international litigation, arbitration and M&A transactions.
He was engaged in the main part of merger process between TEL and Applied Materials. Inc in 2013.  Although the merger did not happen due to suspension of US DOJ, he served as the Representative Director and CFO of TEL after cancellation of the merger.  He has been an Executive Advisor of TEL since 2024.
Mr. Hori received a B.S. in Commerce and Management from Hitotsubashi University.
